I've decided to create a separate blog for my more political/medical posts (to the great relief of my Democrate wife and her Democrat siblings. The new blog is at http://www.wakingupcosts.net/ and is much more focussed than this one. The name is derived from a joke about how in anesthesia, going to sleep is free, but waking up costs. There are so many good blogs with names better than 'Clark's Weblog' (like 'Shape of Days') that I just had to try to come up with one, too.
I'm still tweaking and adding features but go take a look! The xml/rss feed is here. Suggestions are welcome.
Weâre pretty sure none of the fine ladies weâve been squiring about town would ever dream of using this, but Cingular is offering a new service called âEscape-A-Dateâ that will actually automatically call you at a pre-set time to help you extricate yourself from any unpleasant situations. There are even eight different scripts that prompt you to say the right things so you can make it sound like youâve just gotten a very important and urgent call that requires you to leave immediately.
Make it 'Escape-A-Meeting' and I think you have a blockbuster on your hands.

I've decided to start adding some of my anesthesia-related materials to this site as they were recently taken down by the Penn State. Accordingly, I've added two new lines under 'Navigation' on the right side of this page. They are Key References (for Medline citations) and Anesthesiology.
