www.romanvenable.net: Clark's Weblog
I've decided to start adding some of my anesthesia-related materials to this site as they were recently taken down by the Penn State. Accordingly, I've added two new lines under 'Navigation' on the right side of this page. They are Key References (for Medline citations) and Anesthesiology.
I added something I think is nifty to the site. At the end of each day on the weblog main page there is now a quote--usually from a famous person or well known writer, but occasionally from someone I know. Likewise, in the RSS feeds for this site, each day also has a quote. Thanks to Conversant's randomizer macro, this is a breeze.
I'm a physician in Pennsylvania. I never would have dreamed it, but yesterday I spent two hours at the state capitol steps in Harrisburg taking part in a demonstration to call attention the our state's malpractice crisis and the Governer's refusal to deal with it. I say 'never dreamed' because I, like the majority of physicians, am not what one would call 'politically active'. The fact that we are becoming so is a message in and of itself.
I've spent the last seven years in academic practice and only recently moved to private practice. During those years, I gave little thought to malpractice or medical liability issues. I had lots of other things to deal with. I'm starting this new blog channel to post information as I find it.
